Finnish Maternity Cohort Serum Bank
As a population based cohort representing nearly all pregnant women since 1983, the FMC is the world’s largest continuously gathered serum bank. Combined with an uniform health care system and several high-quality health registers in Finland, use of the FMC enables follow-up and longitudal research of risk factors and biomarkers associated to a disease of interest in the mother or in the child born after the pregnancy in question.
